American Sewing Guild

Northern Virginia Chapter

Advancing Sewing As An Art and Life Skill

Mission

The American Sewing Guild (ASG) is a not-for-profit education-based organization dedicated to people who believe sewing is a rewarding and creative activity. We participate in both local and nation-wide community service projects. For more info on ASG, or to sign up for membership on-line, go to http://www.asg.org/ For more information on the Northern Virginia Chapter, send an email to northernvirginia@asg.org

Benefits of Membership

Benefits of membership include ASG discounts with national and local retailers, ASG's quarterly magazine, Notions, virtual membership groups and on-line chats with nationally recognized educators in the industry and local meetings and events. ASG sponsors an Annual National Conference each year in July, drawing nearly one-thousand attendees from across the country. In 2009, the conference will be held in Albuquerque, NM.

The Northern Virginia Chapter has monthly meetings called Neighborhood Groups throughout our chapter area at various times and locations. Members can attend them all. Non-members may attend two meetings for free before you must join. And, if there isn't a neighborhood group near you, we can help you start one yourself! Please see our Calendar of Special Events for details on the latest events.

Membership Area

The Northern Virginia Chapter of the American Sewing Guild includes the northern portion of Virginia from the Shenandoah Mountains to the Potomac River, south to Fredericksburg, Western MD and DC. We have over a dozen groups that meet monthly around the region. Adjoining chapters include the Richmond ASG and the Maryland ASG.
